COVID-19 pandemic has caused many industries to re-evaluate and re-imagine how they do business. Physical Therapy has an unique challenge of delivering high quality care while maintaining social distancing as best as we can. We have come to think of physical therapy as a hands on service with face to face interaction but there is a lot that can be done with limited hands on care. Along with extensive training in manual therapy, physical therapist are also movement analysis specialists.
What does this mean? Waiting in pain until you are comfortable at a physical therapy clinic isn't your only option. Balanced Strength PT is able to perform evaluations and follow up visits through telehealth. Telehealth uses videoconferencing to set up a face to face appointment from the comfort and safety of your home in order to get the care you need. Another option is meeting for the initial evaluation, but meeting virtually for follow up visits through video chat.
As we slowly begin to open up and get used to a new normal, video physical therapy appointments will remain a service that Balanced Strength Physical Therapy offers. Telehealth is a great way to have a physical therapy session when you are out of town or have are limited in your schedule. Please take care, wash those hands, and we'll see you soon!
