FAQ: FAQ

What is pelvic floor physical therapy?

Pelvic floor physical therapy or pelvic health physical therapy focuses on the pelvic area and everything it does for us. We look at the muscles, nerves, ligaments, tendons and bones of the area and how we can get them working better and relieve pain. We address the functions of the pelvic floor including stability, support, and bowel and bladder function.

Do I need a referral for physical therapy?

Florida is a “direct access state.” This means you are allowed to go directly to a physical therapist without a physician's referral first and receive treatment for 30 days. After 30 days, the therapist will need to get a treatment plan signed by an approved healthcare provider.

Do you take insurance?

My focus is on patient care.  I want to treat patients the best way without insurance dictating treatment. For that reason, I am an out of network provider, meaning I am happy to give you a superbill that you can provide to your insurance for reimbursement, but I am not contracted with insurance companies except for Medicare.

Where are you located?

Balanced Strength PT is located conveniently at 1575 Indian River Blvd Suite C-130, Vero Beach FL, 32906. We have a limited amount of in home appointments for new moms.

How do I prepare for a pelvic physical therapy appointment?

You will receive a welcome packet once we schedule an appointment. Going through the paperwork before your initial appointment will help us get moving forward. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes are great!
